On Dec 18, 2024, Robin Byron Graham was convicted on two counts under the Animal Protection Act (APA) of permitting animals to be in distress. As part of his sentence, Mr. Graham must allow Alberta SPCA Peace Officers free access to his land for a period of two years for the purpose inspecting livestock on his properties, and Alberta SPCA Peace Officers may, without warrant, remove any livestock deemed to be neglected or in distress. Mr. Graham must provide to the Alberta SPCA a list of the land locations where animals are being kept, as well as the number of animals and the identification of the livestock, ie: brands and ear tags. If these conditions are not met, the Alberta SPCA may bring this matter back before the sentencing Justice.
