Schmidt was found guilty of one charge under the Animal Protection Act for causing or allowing his dog to be in distress. He was fined $650 and is prohibited for 10 years from owning or caring for any animals other than the two cats currently living in the house, which must both be spayed.

When Do We Seize Animals
