Tammy Janet Morrison & Natalie Catherine Morrison

On March 9, 2021 Tammy Janet Morrison and Natalie Catherine Morrison each pleaded guilty in Stony Plain Provincial Court to one count under the Animal Protection Act 2(1) of causing animals to be in distress.

In March of 2020, Alberta SPCA Peace Officers executed a search warrant on a property west of Edmonton after receiving a public complaint that animals may be in distress. Peace Officers seized approximately 45 animals of various species and took them into protective custody.

Natalie Morrison was fined $3,500 and Tammy Morrison was fined $5,000. Four additional charges under the Animal Protection Act were withdrawn.

When Do We Seize Animals

Alberta SPCA Peace Officers sometimes need to take animals into protective custody. When they do so, the officers will post a notice at the former location of the animals stating the reason for the seizure.
