Jenkins, James

James Jenkins of Strathcona County is prohibited from owing, possessing, controlling, boarding or living at a residence with any animals, with the exception of 20 bovines, for a period of three years. During the term of the prohibition order, Alberta SPCA Peace Officers, with 24 hours notice, may inspect the living conditions and welfare of animals on Mr. Jenkins property without warrant, and remove any animals deemed to be in distress or any animals in excess of 20 bovines.

This prohibition order remains in effect until October 2, 2026.

When Do We Seize Animals

Alberta SPCA Peace Officers sometimes need to take animals into protective custody. When they do so, the officers will post a notice at the former location of the animals stating the reason for the seizure.

Investigating Neglect & Abuse

Our Peace Officers investigate every complaint we receive. We can only investigate if we have reasonable and probable grounds to believe there may have been an offence under the Animal Protection Act.
