Dakota Beuerlein is prohibited from owning more than 5 livestock for a period of one year. In addition, Alberta SPCA Peace Officers have the right to inspect animals on Mr. Beuerlein’s properties, without warrant, for a period of 10 years for the purpose of checking on their welfare.
The prohibition order is in effect from December 23rd, 2021 to December 23rd, 2022.

When Do We Seize Animals
Alberta SPCA Peace Officers sometimes need to take animals into protective custody. When they do so, the officers will post a notice at the former location of the animals stating the reason for the seizure.
Investigating Neglect & Abuse
Our Peace Officers investigate every complaint we receive. We can only investigate if we have reasonable and probable grounds to believe there may have been an offence under the Animal Protection Act.
