Manager, Community & Stakeholder Relations

We are seeking experienced individual with a genuine concern for animal welfare to fill FT Manager, Community & Stakeholder Relations position working out of our Edmonton office. The individual will represent the Alberta SPCA at meetings in various capacities with government, animal care groups, and livestock industry, build & maintain stakeholder relations & work on initiatives including identification, public awareness programs, and strategic planning in animal welfare. Successful candidate will have excellent project management skills, knowledge of animal care and health requirements for all species, knowledge of animal husbandry practices, knowledge of animal behavioural science, excellent verbal & written communication skills, and be willing to work collaboratively with all Alberta SPCA departments and community agencies. Candidate must hold a valid driver’s licence with a good driving record.

Dog House Building Project

Alberta dogs will be the beneficiary of a pilot program between the Alberta SPCA Edmonton Catholic Schools. Students at six different schools are building insulated dog houses in their construction classes. The houses will then be offered to needy dogs and their families. The families will be identified by Peace Officers through their regular duties.
