Rationale The Alberta SPCA understands that animals will be trapped for commercial purposes, as a population management strategy and to control so-called nuisance animals. The Alberta SPCA believes many trapping devices currently in use cause distress to trapped animals. The Alberta SPCA believes legislation should be enacted and strictly enforced requiring responsible use of trapping methods and devices which do not cause distress and ensure the animals' humane death. |
